Kids might be ridiculously cute, but they can be trouble when it comes to having their regular meals. Now that we are all staying home, it might be a difficult time – to get them to eat because we all know kids are fussy eaters, while juggling our WFH duties. It is even harder to open up their palates and get them to try new food because most kids only eat the food that they are familiar with.
We’re hoping to make things easier for you so we’ve condensed a list of 5 favourite local restaurants and enterprises with kid-friendly, ultra nutritious and interesting food choices that both the adults and little ones are going to love. The Lokal
The Lokal was first founded in 2014 by Chef Darren Farr. We love the casual vibes of this Australian Restaurant-Bar serving all-day healthy and honest comfort-food made with fresh, seasonal produce.
Their menu consists of a Pimp-My-Breakfast section which we reckon your kids are gonna love, and that you’re going to have a better time coaxing the little ones to eat their food. Let them choose the food they like and let them DIY their own nutritious breakfast plate with The Lokal’s selection of different sides. They include perfectly baked sourdough slices, cold-smoked salmon slices, eggs, smashed avocadoes, roast chicken and many more!
If it’s a Sunday brunch treat, you can even add a dessert to your order. Choose from Max’s Grandma Apple Cake, a hearty Sticky Date Pudding or the ultimate favourite – good ol’ Chocolate Brownie! Pretty sure the little ones are gonna give you a big hug after their yummy breakfast!

Little Farms Cafe
Little Farms is a neighbourhood cafe + market selling lots of great quality, and mostly organic produces, meat, seafood and dairy. We love shopping for food at Little Farms and was really thrilled to find out that they have an all-day breakfast inspired menu made with the same high-quality food you’ll feel safe to feed yourself and your kids with!
Sometimes, the simplest stuff tastes the best. Get your little one the classic kid-friendly breakfast – toast! Their breakfast menu consists of 3 different toasts you can choose from. If your kid has a sweet tooth, get the Nutty Banana. It’s a sourdough with banana, nut butter and drizzled with honey. It’s pretty well-balanced, delicious, and even the fussiest ones are going to love it.
There are other really yummy and delicious food on the menu as well, like the Acai Bowl, Salmon Cakes, and even Raw Bars if your kid is craving a healthy snack!

Founded by Terri-Anne, a Melbourne expat living in Singapore, Carrotsticks & Cravings stays true to the founders’ Aussie roots while incorporating healthy eating into their menu using fresh ingredients and encouraging sustainability industry practices.
The kiddo is going to love the Pancakes the Kid’s Way – a hearty plate of organic gluten free blueberry oat pancakes topped with greek yogurt and organic Canadian maple syrup on the side. Can you believe that is healthy? And yummy? That’s too good to be true! If your kid (or yourself) is looking for a dish with lots of decadent dark chocolate, get them the Vegan Midnight Classique Cupcake, It’s a sponge cupcake filled with flowy molten dark chocolate centre and covered with a shiny dark chocolate ganache. Oh my.

Wildseed Cafe & Bar is located at the ground level of The Summerhouse. While we can’t bring the kids out during this period, we can jolly well enjoy their hearty breakfast, brunch or lunch menu that both adults and the kids are going to love!
Aside from the build-your-own breakfast with pancakes as one of the choices, they have a menu dedicated specially to the kids as well at only $9.90. Choose from the Chix Katsu, Mac n Cheese or Beef n Pork which is a bolognese. All the sets come with a bowl of hearty mushroom soup!

Petit Bowl
Petit Bowl is lovingly made for kids of all ages! They want to help the dads and moms by making dining easy with fresh, wholesome and of course, gloriously yummy food for the lovely little ones. Using special cooking methods, the food prepared by Petit Bowl retains the highest amount of possible nutrition so you can be rest assured that you are feeding your kids right, with the optimum amount of nutrition they need to grow up well.
They have meal selections for babies, toddlers aged 1-3 and preschoolers. The food is shipped frozen, so when the meals arrive, you can keep them in your freezer, then reheat by steaming or microwaving during mealtimes.
We are eyeing that Cod Fish Spinach and Pasta because it looks really good. We know cod-fish is one of the best brain food for young kids, and it tastes really delicious as well! If your kid hasn’t developed a full set of teeth yet, you can also get the Cottage Pie – creamy mashed potato with a decadent beef and vegetable mix. It’s really rich in micro-nutrients such as Vitamin B, iron and zinc. They are all the things the kids need to grow up tall and strong.
