The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is only produced in the best vintage years, with grapes from the farm’s prime vineyards, the Prato vineyards (West), Solatio (South -West) and Querceto (West/ South West). It is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is first aged in French oak barriques for 18 -20 months and then in larger barrels. The minimum aging period is 30 months, with at least 6 in the bottle.
Profile:
Dark purple with flashes of ruby. balanced intensity the nose, invitingly rich fruitness with notes of dark cherry, prune and blackberry, held together with notes of mentholated balsamic, tobacco and liquorice.
