Herdade do Rocim Sommelier Edition 2013
Red Wine from Alentejo, Portugal
Between Vidigueira and Cuba, in Baixo Alentejo, Herdade do Rocim has about 70 hectares of vineyards, 53 of which are red and the remaining 17 are white. Characterized by its clayey and sandy loam soils, at Herdade do Rocim, the criteria aim at the production of high quality grapes. Adega do Rocim, the structuring element of the project, combines the production of wine with the aesthetic quality of its architecture, working as a marketing and promotion element, qualifying the region.
Intense ruby color, medium concentration and still young. On the nose, ripe red fruit, wild berries, some black plum, floral notes, violets, fresh balsamic, slight green, integration of the barrel already at a good level, with hints of cocoa appearing subtly. Mouth still young, irreverent, with strength, the balance is there, with 14.5% of alcohol advertised on the counter-label not bothering.
