The Founder of Quinta do Zambujeiro
Emil Strickler, an enthusiastic Swiss wine lover bought the vineyard in 1998. Quinta do Zambujeiro is located approximately 170km east of Lisbonn in the south eastern Portuguese region of Alentejo.

Fermentation in wooden fermenter

Malolactic fermentation in barrels 
24 months barrel aged in new French oak barrels

Blend:
33% Petit Verdot, 27% Alicante Bouschet, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Touriga Nacional ,15.5% vol Alc.

Tasting Notes:
A perfect year in the vineyards produced this stunning wine. It has an almost black colour and opens a dark, complex bouquet of wild berries, tobacco and cedarwood. Dense and tight in structure, still with mouthcoating tannins, lots of lush, sweet fruit extract, balanced by a fresh acidity, and comes with an almost endless finish. It is a big and opulent wine, made for ageing and improving in the bottle for at least 10 years.
20 Years of Special & Unique Wines:
The Swiss newspaper Blick chose 20 brands of wine to be tasted by various experts in the field. Among the various wines, there is Quinta do Zambujeiro 2016, which obtained the highest score (19/20), together with Clos Matinet Vinyes del Mas d'en Martinet 2017.

Goes well with all meat dishes, pasta or drink alone
Store between:15 -17ºC . 
Drink 2019– 2027.
