Bodega Eguiluz, established in 1982 by Javier Eguiluz in Ábalos, La Rioja, embodies a lifelong dream of crafting exceptional wines from family land. Javier’s passion for winemaking has been continued by his son Israel, who, after studying industrial engineering and enology, joined the family business. Together, they produce wines that reflect their unique terroir with minimal intervention.
Ábalos, situated on the left bank of the Ebro River, benefits from elevated, south-facing slopes and a microclimate influenced by the Cantabria mountain range. The region’s clay-and-limestone soils create ideal conditions for grape cultivation, leading to high-quality maturation. Bodega Eguiluz’s philosophy emphasizes the natural characteristics of their land, allowing the wines to express the true essence of Ábalos and its rich winemaking heritage.
