21 year old single malt from the Ben Nevis distillery, from the foothills of the mountain which shares its name. This expression was bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and the label shows off a stunning view of said distillery from said mountain, as well as a chap drinking a bottle of this very whisky. It's all a bit meta. This batch has 931 bottles.
Profile:
Nose: Thick, luscious toffee at first, followed by stewed fruits, caramelised pecans and candied peels. It’s enjoyably chocolatey throughout, with some savoury notes of salted rye crackers to balance the sweetness. Palate: There are more rich, unctuous sweet notes from dark fruit jam, salted caramel and buttery biscuit. A flash of tropical fruit sharpness and a pinch of cumin providing some heat and complexity. Finish: Dense malt and dark chocolate.
