Red Wine from D√£o, Portugal
We are facing a producer who reborn from the ashes. He is here to stay, to tell a new story, but the story of that house is old, dating back to the nineteenth century, when it was built. Great wines are born in this house and these vineyards. Who does not remember the P63 at the time vinified by José Maria da Fonseca. Fate wanted that were "abandoned" to the world of wine, with only a tenuous memory of the great wines that were born there. But fate decreed that the new owner, a person with good taste, and an extreme dedication to do and to do it well. The new Casa da Passarella was born to write a new chapter in the history of that wine house and in Dão region. The wines are excellent and no less delightful than the labels. These are wines made with rigor, welling to do the best. The future, it seems guaranteed, judging by the effulgent start.
The pinnacle red of the range, 100% Touriga Nacional and a treat waiting to be uncorked, decanted and savoured. Full bodied but as is the case with this variety, as much as you get bold, concentrated flavours of blackberries, forest fruits, spice and gravelly tannins like a cats tongue, you get a floral prettiness, violets and a perfumed softness like stroking a velvet cushion.
