Quinta dos Carvalhais Alfrocheiro 2015

The grapes destined to be part of the batch were harvested by field, in small boxes of 20 kg, being at the time executed a rigorous qualitative selection, having been vinified separately. Upon arrival at the Quinta dos Carvalhais wine cellar, the grapes harvested were discharged manually, box-by-carton, directly to the decanter / crusher. The resulting wine mass followed by gravity for small fermentation vats in stainless steel, where it fermented about 8 days at about 26 ° C, with reassembly for gentle extraction of the flavors and compounds from the films. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was transferred to stainless steel tanks where malo-lactic fermentation was carried out, followed by a 12-month period of aging and aging in French oak barrels (14% new). batching, filtration and bottling.
Ruby red color. Delicate and fine aromas of fresh fruits (strawberry and raspberry) and floral notes. There are also balsamic notes to pine, sous-bois and mushroom that contribute to the great complexity of this wine. In the mouth it shows a remarkable elegance and smoothness, very balanced acidity, being again in focus the remarkable aromatic complexity of this exceptional D√£o breed. Ends long and elegant.
