Grace Vineyard, founded by Mr. Chun-Keung Chan on August 28, 1997, in Taigu County, Shanxi Province, China, began with a vision of serenity and excellence. Collaborating with Bordeaux oenologist Denis Boubals and French partner Sylvain Janvier, Mr. Chan aimed to create exceptional wines in the unique climate of the Loess Plateau, known for its distinct seasons and dry, sandy loam soil.
In 2002, leadership passed to Mr. Chan's daughter, Judy, who had studied in the United States. Under her direction, Grace Vineyard flourished, gaining recognition and innovation. The winery’s success was highlighted in a 2008 Harvard Business School case study.
The vineyard expanded significantly in 2012 with the establishment of a 1,000-acre site in Ganchengzi, Ningxia. By 2018, Grace Wine Holdings Limited went public in Hong Kong, marking its evolution from a family-run business to a publicly listed entity. Today, it includes Shanxi Grace Vineyard, Ningxia Grace Vineyard, and Fujian Dexi Winery.
Grace Vineyard is celebrated as a leading boutique winery in China, noted for its commitment to quality and sustainability. Key achievements include the 2008 collaboration with Bodega Torres for “Symphony” and the 2009 introduction of “Deep Blue” on Cathay Pacific Airways.
