Barao do Hospital Loureiro 2020 is a crisp and aromatic white wine from Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, crafted by Falua. This blend consists of 85% Loureiro and 15% Alvarinho. It offers vibrant citrus notes of lemon and lime, complemented by floral aromas. The palate is fresh and mineral, with a lingering finish. The wine has an alcohol content of 12.5% and is unoaked, preserving its bright and lively character. It is recommended to be served chilled at 10–12°C. Ideal pairings include grilled fish, seafood pasta, and fresh salads. The wine has received a 90-point rating from Mark Squires of The Wine Advocate, who describes it as “reasonably crisp but deep and lingering on the finish” .
Profile:
Citric color. High aromatic intensity with a variety of floral notes, aromas of citrus fruits such as lemon and lime. Long and intense aftertaste, with a marked freshness and minerality.

What’s In It: Loureiro 85%, Alvarinho 15%
How It Was Made:
Soil: Granitic.
Harvest: By hand in 15 Kg cases.
Vinification: The grapes were cooled down to 5ºC, followed by gentle destemming and skin maceration at low temperature for a few hours. After pressing, the must was clarified by decanting and fermented at a controlled temperature of 16ºC, keeping the wine on fine lees for a long period of time.
